As the city’s only Hungarian kitchen, we bring something truly different to Christchurch: rich traditional flavours, time-honoured recipes and the unmistakable warmth of Hungarian cuisine.
From our signature Lángos to irresistible Kürtőskalács, every dish is freshly prepared with passion, using the flavours and traditions that make Hungarian food so special.
Our Story
We’re both proudly Hungarian, but there’s a twist: our story began on the other side of the world, in New Zealand.
It’s not just romance that brought us together, but also our shared obsession with traditional Hungarian flavors. We both chasing the best snacks on the planet.
Missing our home and the real Hungarian paprika, so we started recreating the most famous Hungarian dishes, growing up and following the recipes of our parents and grandparents.
We want to introduce these flavors into our little kitchen in Christchurch.

Sweet, yeast dough flavored with cinnamon and cloves.
The base sweet dough is baked on wooden rollers and then rolled in cinnamon sugar to create a caramelized sugar crust.
